It is very difficult to work with Qi, when you have no awareness for sensing Qi.  In the video above, teacher RJ Singer demonstrates an exercise to immediately experience a Qi sensation, and then gives you another exercise to develop this skill further.

In reality, you have always been aware of Qi, but it has only been perceivable by the subconscious mind, and not been apparent consciously. Similar to sitting in a chair, you are conscious of the feeling of the chair against your skin, the pressure and weight of your body upon the chair, and all associated sensations of being in a chair, only when you turn your awareness inward to observe it.

Once it is observed, it is apparent and easy to experience over and over again.  Once observed, one can also observe different layers and details of sensation.  Using the chair example again, you may perceive the sensation of the whole bum and legs, and then can refine it to something more detailed such as just your tailbone, or the clothing touching your skin, the sensation of different tissues in the body – skin, muscle, bone, etc.  The different levels of observation are infinite!

As your observation skills are refined with more detail through practice, your consciousness also develops.  They are inseparable. A tactile sensation, can be developed into seeing without seeing, hearing without hearing, smelling without smelling, developing an ability for example to sense the pulsation of blood flow through a vessel, nerve impulses, and any process of internal human life activity.

In ZhiNeng QiGong, the exercise La Qi, which translates to Pulling Qi is the most crucial exercise for developing an effective and successful result of your QiGong practice.  It is a subjective experience of the guiding principles of ZhiNeng QiGong, and turns something theoretical into something practical, applicable, and effective.

According to Hun Yuan Entirety theory (the guiding principle of ZhiNeng QiGong), everything that makes up reality consists of a unifying substance, called Hun Yuan Qi.  Hun Yuan Qi is the finest and purest substance in existence and is the building block of all things making up reality.

I personally think it is very similar to the Higgs-Boson Particle also known as the Quantum Field.  This particle is not actually a particle, but a field of potential that can appear, disappear, change, and transform in relation to the information that is given to it through direct observation.

Hun Yuan Entirety theory also states that all things in existence from the smallest unit to the largest, are in a constant state of Hun Hua - merging and transforming.  Everything is opening and closing (like the breath), dispersing and gathering; and transforming.  One can observe these patterns in nature.

Through the practice of La Qi, one can directly experience this phenomenon of merging and transforming, and directly merge and transform their own Human Hun Yuan Qi with that of Universal & Original Hun Yuan Qi. This exercise gives your mind something to focus on, and through focusing, refines your observation skills and slowly strengthens your consciousness.

The hands are extremely helpful for developing this skill, because as children we use them as our earliest tools for learning about the world around us. Through regular practice one can develop their observation skills to the point where the hands are no longer required. La Qi becomes purely a consciousness practice, a very powerful, and effective tool for healing, for researching internal human life activity, and developing higher levels of conscious awareness.  This consciousness practice of La Qi, can then be paired with many other ZhiNeng QiGong exercises to facilitate extremely effective results for healing all types of conditions.

The physical exercises of ZhiNeng QiGong are beneficial, but without pairing them with La Qi practice in a deep state, your efforts will most likely result in a poor outcome.  This very simple practice of La Qi should be practiced repeatedly to develop your focused awareness and skill at observing the infinite layers of Qi.  I believe this is the difference between doing exercise and doing QiGong.  It is also what makes ZhiNeng QiGong effective, and powerful!

To practice La Qi in a deep state, and use it for healing, you can download an audio lesson here.

Listen and practice along and you will enter a very deep state. You will develop your skills of experiencing and working with Qi and simultaneously strengthen your consciousness. This audio lesson is also organized as a Qi Field healing, and will guide you in how to use Qi Medicine for self-healing.

Hun Yuan Ling Tong!
